Welcome to
Brethren Tech. This blog is a new adventure. I am a Youth Pastor so I am constantly working with media and technology. I'm at a medium size church which means many of the tech questions come to me mostly because I'm in the office and have a clue about computers. I am by no means a "tech geek." I know enough to get what I need out of a computer. I use Youtube and Google to figure out the rest. This blog is not only about the technology and media that I use but also will take a look at some of the thinking behind our technology and media. I hope to have several people contributing to this blog, so hopefully our content will be kept up to date.
Many of our tech/media suggestions will be about free/cheap programs or solutions. We don't have tons of money put into our church media, nor do we have the cheap bargain bin solution. We try and balance cheap and quality getting the most for our money.
My hope is that this site will be a resource for other pastors/ministries who are looking for good solutions for communicating in a technology laden world. Thanks for your visit. We look forward to the conversation.
